Shotgun-Toting Thief Steals Man's Jacket Outside Home, NYPD Says [VIDEO]

QUEENS — A thief tried to rob a man's chain at shotgun-point, but ended up running off with his jacket instead, NYPD officials said.

The gunman, who can be seen in surveillance video released by police Tuesday morning, pulled a shotgun on the 31-year-old victim outside a home in Ridgewood about 11:38 p.m. on March 16 and demanded his jewelry, police said.

But instead of the necklace, the thief took his jacket and fled, police said.

Another man accompanied the suspect, but didn't talk to the victim, officials said.

The thief, who wore a black hoodie and a black ski mask, was described by police as standing 5-foot-6 and weighing 150 pounds. He hadn't been arrested as of Tuesday morning.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
