By Gwynne Hogan | April 4, 2017 7:31am

GREENPOINT — A motorcyclist lost control of his bike Monday morning on the Brooklyn-Queen Expressway and was fatally struck by a passing car after he was thrown onto the roadway, police said.

Anthony Rivera, 35, a Fort Greene resident, was biking west on the BQE on his 2016 Yamaha at 4:11 a.m. near Morgan Avenue when he suddenly lost control and was ejected from his bike, police said.

A 2007 Toyota SUV headed the same direction hit Rivera as he landed in the middle of the highway, police said.

Emergency workers rushed to the scene but Rivera was already dead, according to police.

The 52-year-old SUV driver stayed at the scene of the crash and was later taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

No one was arrested and but the investigation is ongoing, police said.
