MANHATTAN — A subway musician exposed and touched himself in front of a straphanger last month, the NYPD said.

The 31-year-old victim told police she was walking on the southbound platform at the West 145th Street Subway station on March 1 at approximately 4:30 p.m. when the man walked up to her playing a dark-colored guitar slung across his chest and asked for directions in Spanish.

The woman then noticed the suspect had exposed his genitals and began touching himself, police said. She ran to find help but managed to take his photo before he fled on the 1 train, police said.

The suspect was described as in his 40s, standing 5-foot-5 and weighing about 130 pounds grayish-black hair.

He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, a light blue shirt, blue jeans, dark shoes and a blue tie.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
