THE BRONX — A woman snatched an 83-year-old woman’s purse in broad daylight, knocking her to the ground on West 231st Street on Sunday, police said.

The elderly woman was in front of 213 W. 231st St. when the suspect ran up and grabbed her handbag, which held credit cards and checks, before fleeing up Broadway, an NYPD spokesman said. The victim then fell to the ground and suffered minor injuries.

She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where she was treated and released.

The purse snatcher appeared to be in her early 20s, 140 pounds and was last seen with her hair in a bun and wearing ripped blue jeans and a camouflage jacket.
