BROOKLYN — A large stretch of the L train will be shutting down weeknights from April 3-7 and then again from April 10-14, according to the MTA.

Service will be suspended between Lorimer Street and Broadway Junction from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the two weeks of FASTRACK work so the agency can make station and track repairs.

Trains will run between Eighth Avenue to Lorimer Street and Broadway Junction and Canarsie during the disruption. Free shuttle buses will run between Lorimer and Broadway Junction.

Riders can also transfer to a G train at Lorimer or M train at the Myrtle-Wyckoff shuttle bus stop.

Late-night commuters may also consider using an A or J train at Broadway Junction for alternative service into Manhattan.

Meanwhile, an 18-month L train tunnel shutdown is still scheduled to begin in early 2019. The MTA is hoping to possibly shave three months off the project by offering a $15 million bonus for contractors who can finish the repairs early.
