EAST WILLIAMSBURG — A new city housing lottery offers the chance at a rent-stabilized apartment in a new building with a rooftop garden, a fitness center and a yoga studio — just two blocks from the Montrose L train stop.

Eight one- and two-bedroom apartments with monthly rents of $987 and $1,114 a month, respectively, are now available at the apartment building located at 73 Montrose Ave. near Leonard Street.

The building also boasts a parking garage, a laundry room and other amenities, which will be available to subsidized tenants, though it's not immediately clear if additional charges will apply, said a worker at Metropolitan Reality Exemptions, the company leasing the apartments. The worker declined to comment further.

Market-rate one-bedroom apartments in the building are priced at $2,800 a month, according to the Street Easy listing.

Applications for the subsidized apartments are due by April 17 and households with between one and four people, who earn between $33,772 and $54,360, are eligible to apply.
