EAST HARLEM — Thieves pilfered more than $8,000 in power tools and appliances, including two jackhammers and a microwave, from a pair of construction sites this month, police said.

A worker with Galaxy General Construction discovered on March 18 that a front gate and a manager’s office door at the 433 E. 115th St. site near Pleasant Avenue were both broken, police said.

The worker then discovered that a slew of power tools was taken from the site, including a screw gun, a laser gun, a demolition hammer, a saw, two grinders and two jackhammers — totaling $7,514, police said.

A representative from the company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In another case the following day, on March 19, police said a mustachioed thief dressed in all black was caught on camera around 11:44 p.m. climbing over a rail into the basement of a construction site at 24 E. 126th St., near Madison Avenue.

The burglar walked away with a microwave and a floor tile cutter, worth a total of $575, police said.

The site was managed by Touchstone Homes LLC, which could not be reached for comment.

There were no arrests as of Wednesday.
