ASTORIA — A pair of robbers followed an 83-year-old man into an apartment building elevator, flashing a knife and telling the elderly victim, "Don't make a noise," as they pilfered his cellphone and cash, according to the NYPD.
Police say the two men trailed the victim into the lobby elevator of a residential building near 21st Street and 36th Avenue shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday.
As the elevator doors closed, one of the suspects took out a knife, saying "Don't make a noise." The second suspect then robbed the man of a cellphone and $20, police said.
The thieves fled the building in an unknown direction. The victim wasn't injured in the robbery, according to police.
The first suspect is described as a bald man who wore black sneakers, black jeans and a dark hooded sweatshirt, police said.
The second was wearing a grey hooded jacket, skull cap, black backpack, black sneakers and blue jeans.
