JAMAICA — A repeat taxi hustler lifted musician John Legend's Louis Vuitton bag — containing clothing, personal items and Cartier cufflinks valued at more than $25,000 — from the top of a luggage cart outside JFK airport, police said.

Agustin Hilario, 63, was seen on surveillance video pushing away the luggage cart where Legend had placed his black Louis Vuitton bag after landing at Terminal 4 from France on Thursday, March 23 at around 2 p.m., according to the Queens District Attorney's Office.

The bag, which is worth more than $3,000, had a pair of $25,000 Cartier panther head cufflinks along with clothing and personal items that belong to the Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe award-winning star.

Hilario, who lives in Corona, had been arrested the day before for unlawfully trying to pick up passengers at JFK, which he was also busted for on Jan. 20 and warned about as far back as 2015, Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo said.

He came back to the airport Thursday night, where he told police he took the bag by mistake, and was planning to bring it to the airport's lost and found.

“I know I should not have taken it. I made a mistake," Hilario told officers, according to the criminal complaint.

The bag was returned to Legend, the Port Authority said.

Hilario was charged with grand larceny and other charges and faces up to seven years in prison if convicted, officials said.
