Man Fatally Struck While Crossing Harlem River Drive, NYPD Says

MANHATTAN — A man was fatally struck as he tried to cross Harlem River Drive Thursday night, NYPD officials said.

The 58-year-old man, whose name wasn't immediately released, was crossing near West 158th Street minutes after 11 p.m. when a 72-year-old man in a southbound Honda Pilot hit him in the left center lane, police said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, police said.

The driver stayed at the scene and wasn't immediately arrested or ticketed, police said.
