Woman Spewing Anti-Muslim Hate Speech Punches Victim in Throat, Police Say

QUEENS — A woman with bright orange hair and a side shave approached a Muslim woman on a Jamaica street, spewed anti-Muslim profanities and punched her in the throat, in what the NYPD is investigating as a hate crime.

The attacker walked up to the 26-year-old victim at at the intersection of Sutphin Boulevard and 109th Street around 8:20 p.m. on March 6, called her a “f-----g Muslim” and told her that she “stinks,” before punching her in the neck, according to the NYPD.

The two women did not know each other, authorities said. The incident is being investigated by the NYPD's hate crimes task force.

The attacker fled north on Sutphin Boulevard. She was last seen wearing a multi-colored jacket, a dark colored shirt, dark colored pants and boots, according to a video released by the NYPD.
