QUEENS — A woman fought off a man who followed her into her lobby and bear-hugged her before placing his hand over her mouth, police said.

The 28-year-old victim walked into her lobby at 43rd Avenue and 42nd Street in Sunnyside about 12:30 a.m. on March 12 when the suspect raced through the closing door and then pushed her up against a wall, NYPD officials said.

Video shows the woman struggling with her attacker, eventually sending him scurrying away.

He was last seen walking south on 42nd Street, police said.

The suspect hadn't been arrested as of Tuesday morning, officials said.

The suspect was described as standing about 5-foot-5 inches, with brown eyes and brown hair, police said. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue pants and black shoes, officials said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
