MORRIS HEIGHTS — A man was punched in the face and knocked unconscious during a brutal robbery that was caught on video in The Bronx, police said.

The 57-year-old victim was leaving the Deli Grocery Tobacco Shop at 1899 Andrews Ave. S on Feb. 23 at 10:50 p.m. when a man came up to him from behind and punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground unconscious, according to the NYPD.

A second man then stole the victim's ID, debit card and $80 in cash before both suspects fled the scene, police said.

Video of the assault shows the victim immediately falling to the ground after getting hit in the face. One of the suspects then roughly flips the victim over and starts rummaging through his pants.

EMS took the victim to a local hospital for treatment, and he has since been released, according to police.

The suspect who punched the victim was last seen in a gray and orange hooded sweatshirt, black pants with a white stripe running down the legs and sandals. The suspect who stole the victim's money wore a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, police said.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
