BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A man wearing a winged pigeon backpack followed a woman into her building’s elevator and grabbed her butt, police said.

The suspect trailed the 40-year-old victim inside her apartment building near Chauncey Street and Stuyvesant Avenue just before 1 a.m. on Feb. 8, according to officials.

While inside the elevator, he grabbed her butt until she fought him off, police said.

The woman left the suspect inside the elevator, and he later fled the building in an unknown direction, officials said.

Police released a photo of the man Tuesday, describing him as between 20 and 25 years old, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black hooded sweater, black jacket, dark-colored pants, black sneakers and a backpack with wings and a picture of a pigeon holding a coffee cup.

Police did not explain why they only just now released the information about the Feb. 8 case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or to submit their tips on the Crime Stoppers website.
