QUEENS — Police arrested a man who they say stabbed a neighbor in the butt because the man was using a snowblower following last week’s snowstorm in Rego Park, officials said.

Timur Adzhiashvili, 35, was arraigned on charges of assault and harassment after he approached his neighbor last Tuesday around 4 p.m. while the neighbor was using the snowblower to clear a driveway on Alderton Street, near Yellowstone Boulevard, police said.

The suspect first punched the victim in the face and then stabbed him with a sharp object in both buttocks as well as in the chest and head because he was annoyed by the loud sound of his snowblower, officials said.

Adzhiashvili, who police said has a history of mental illness, fled but was arrested Friday, police said.

He has 26 prior arrests dating back to 2000, including several for assaults, according to the NYPD.

The victim, whose identity was not released, was treated at a local hospital and released, police said.

Adzhiashvili, who was ordered held on $500,000 bond or $250,000 cash, is due back in court on March 31, according to court documents.

Information on his attorney was not immediately available.
