LOWER EAST SIDE — Blue Bottle Coffee continued its expansion Friday with the debut of its newest NYC outpost in the Lower East Side.
The California-based coffee company is now serving its signature pour-over brews out of a bright, window-lined space at 71 Clinton St., which "cafe leader" Lilly Kaplan says will open up to let in sun and air during the warmer months.
"In the spring and summer, this is going to feel like an outdoor cafe," said Kaplan.
The cafe currently offers pastries and granola alongside the coffee program, and plans to eventually add waffles, oatmeal and toast to the menu, said Kaplan.
The Clinton Street spot is the chain's ninth New York City location. The company recently opened locations in East Williamsburg and Park Slope, and plans to expand to Washington D.C., Boston and Miami later this year.
