LOWER EAST SIDE — Police arrested two people in connection to a brutal beating on Orchard Street that was captured on camera.

Nawang Choying, 23, and Shachin Gauchan, 23, both of Woodside, were arrested and facing assault charges for beating a 24-year-old man  around 2:45 a.m. on Friday, March 10, authorities said.

The victim had been booted from the popular bar Pianos after getting into a fight with the suspects and waited outside for them to exit, police said. The attackers chased the victim to 156 Orchard St., where they punched, kicked and stomped him in the head.

The victim suffered partial hearing loss as a result of the attack, according to a criminal complaint, as well as head injuries that required stitches and staples.

Choying, who was arrested Wednesday and released on his own recognizance after his arraignment Thursday, is due back in court May 8, prosecutors said. He was charged with gang assault. His attorney did not immediately return a request for comment.

Gauchan was arrested Thursday and has yet to be arraigned.
