Egg-Citing Easter Festivities in New York City

Easter is a time for egg hunts, spring strolls, and celebration. Whether you want to spend your Easter brunching with the Easter Bunny or at the Easter Day Parade, New York City's boroughs have something everyone in your family will enjoy. 

Here are a host of Easter events just a hop away in Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn: 

Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet Festival

When: Sunday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Fifth Avenue, from 49th Street to 57th Street, Midtown

It’s time to dust off that embellished bonnet and wear it to the annual Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival. This New York City tradition finds its origins in the 1870s and spans several blocks. You can watch the procession from St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the street, or join the marchers while wearing your festive bonnet!  

Macy's Flower Show 

When: Sunday, March 26 through Sunday, April 9

Where: Macy’s Herald Square, 151 W 34th Street, Midtown West

The ground level of Macy’s Herald Square will be transformed into a colorful springtime garden, in a much-anticipated annual tradition dating back to the 1970s. Don't miss the fragrant gardens or the spectacular designs. 

►2nd Annual Doggie Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday, April 1st from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: The Salty Paw, 38 Peck Slip, Lower Manhattan

The Salty Paw presents an Easter afternoon your puppy will love! Your pet can hunt down eggs filled with treats and enter a costume contest for the best bunny dog. Gregory’s Coffee and a treat bar from Pups N Coffee will also be available. Get your $20 tickets here.

Easter Festival 

When: Saturday, April 15 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.                         

Where: P.S. 705, 443 Saint Marks Avenue, Brooklyn

Enjoy an afternoon full of free games, music, food, bounce houses, crafts, and more at the Easter Festival presented by Trinity Grace Church. 

►Lorenzo Events at The Piano Loft Presents the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

When: Sunday, April 16 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Where: The Piano Loft, 767 East 133rd Street, Bronx

This year’s Mad Hatter Tea Party themed Eastern Brunch at The Piano Loft will include: egg painting, pictures with the Easter Bunny, dancing, food, soft drinks, and dessert. Each child will also receive an Easter goodie basket. Tickets cost $25 for adults and for kids 3 and up and must be purchased in advance. Toddlers under the age of 2 are free. Tickets are available here

Spring Garden Tours at the Queens Botanical Gardens 

When: Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2

Where: Queens Botanical Gardens, 43-50 Main Street, Flushing

Do you want to take in the spring air and blossoming greenery during Easter? The Queens Botanical Gardens is a perfect place to enjoy spring flora and fauna. Spring garden tours are available on April 1 and April 2, price included with admission. 

Brunch with the Easter Bunny

When: Sunday, April 2 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Aviator Sports and Events Center, 3159 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn

Do you love brunch and bunnies? You can enjoy both by eating a delectable brunch buffet with the Easter Bunny at the Aviator Center. Children can also take photos with the Easter Bunny, decorate cupcakes, make crafts, and adults can enjoy a bloody mary or mimosa. Make sure to buy your tickets here

Trinity Church Wall Street 

When: Trinity Church will hold a series of Easter services April 9 through April 16

Where: Trinity Church Wall Street, 75 Broadway, Manhattan
Beginning Palm Sunday until Easter Sunday, Trinity Church will hold a series of observances at St. Paul’s Chapel and Trinity Church. Please visit their website for specific times and dates. Online worship opportunities are also available.

►Easter Jamboree 2017

When: Sunday, April 16 from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Where: 1500 Paedergat N, Brooklyn

This event will have mascot appearances, bounce houses, obstacle courses, carnival games, photo booth, and Easter egg hunt, and a DJ, step, and dance group competition. Food, drinks, cotton candy, popcorn, pretzels, and snowcones will also be for sale. Purchase your tickets here.

Easter Mass at St. John the Divine

When: Sunday, April 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue at 112th Street, Upper West Side

Join many others in observing Easter Day services with the Bishop of New York and the Cathedral Choirs. Passes are available for the Festal Eucharist for Easter Day if requested no later than April 7. Passes are not required, but space is limited.
