HELL'S KITCHEN — A beloved farmers market that was forced out of its longtime home more than three years ago is reopening in the neighborhood.
Stile’s Farmers Market — which sold fresh fruits and vegetables at the corner of West 41st Street and Ninth Avenue for more than two decades — will open a new outpost in the storefront at 476 Ninth Ave., between West 36th and 37th streets, within the next few weeks, owner Steve Stile said.

The original market shuttered at the end of 2013 after the building it occupied was sold. The grocer has been searching for a new location ever since, he told DNAinfo New York.
“I always kept it in my mind that we’d open again,” he said. “I was just looking for the right space, the right price.”
The new location sits just a few storefronts away from another former Stile's Farmers Market outpost on West 37th Street that closed around 10 years ago, he noted.
“This happens to be the same landlord, and he called and said he had the space for me,” Stile explained.
The approximately 2,500-square-foot outpost will sell salads and dried nuts, in addition to the usual fruits and vegetables, he said.
The grocer’s family currently operates a small market on West 52nd Street, between Eighth and Ninth avenues, as well as a store in Connecticut.
Customers are excited about the new location, and Stile himself “has never felt better,” he said.
“The community missed us. The community wanted us back,” he added. “I’m thankful to be back on the avenue and support[ing] the community again.”
