FINANCIAL DISTRICT — An upscale tea shop is on its way to the neighborhood.
Australian tea brand T2 is slated to open a location on Dey Street, just off of Broadway, according to signage posted at the site. This will be T2's fourth New York City location, joining shops in SoHo, Boerum Hill and the Upper West Side.
The store sells hundreds of kinds of its loose-leaf tea, along with with a variety of teaware for expert brewing and sipping. Although not a cafe that sells brewed teas, it does offer regular tastings, and products can be sampled before purchase.
T2 did not immediately return a request for comment about its opening date.
