YORKVILLE — A mother punched a 71-year-old woman in a Second Avenue Subway station Monday after the victim scolded the mom for not teaching her child to wait to let people off an elevator before getting on, according to the NYPD.
Breonna Turk, 24, and her child tried to board an elevator at the East 86th Street station roughly 2:10 p.m. before the victim could step out, police said.
The faux pas prompted the 71-year-old woman to chastise Turk, who then pushed and punched the victim on the left side of the body, according to authorities.
Turk then fled the elevator with her child once it reached the ground level, police said. The victim refused medical attention.
Turk, who lives nearby on East 84th Street, surrendered to police and was arrested for assault Wednesday, police said.
She hadn't been arraigned as of Thursday morning, court records show.
Turk was arrested once before in 2010, but police records for that incident are sealed, an NYPD spokesman said.
