MANHATTAN — A woman suffered life-threatening injuries after falling onto the tracks and getting hit by a southbound 6 train Wednesday afternoon, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
The woman, whose identity wasn't immediately released, tumbled onto the tracks of the 51st Street station near Lexington Avenue about 1:26 p.m., according to FDNY and police officials.
The woman was treated at Bellevue, police said.
Trains along the 6 line were briefly disrupted afterwards, but were running normally as of 2:45 p.m., according to the MTA's website.
