MANHATTAN — An 87-year-old man was seriously hurt when he was a hit by an SUV as he jaywalked in the Lower East Side Tuesday night, NYPD officials said.
The man, whose name wasn't immediately released, was crossing Grand Street, near Columbia Street, about 6:30 p.m. when the westbound SUV on Grand hit him with its left front bumper, police said.
The elderly man was treated at Bellevue where he's listed in serious condition, police said.
The driver remained at the scene and wasn't immediately arrested or ticketed, police said.
