Eduard Khanimov, 41, was driving his M14D bus south on Avenue D and was making a right turn onto Houston Street when he hit a 61-year-old woman in the crosswalk about 8:50 p.m., NYPD officials said.
Her leg was trapped under the bus until emergency responders freed her and brought her to Bellevue Hospital, where she's listed in stable condition, police said.
She suffered a broken leg and some scrapes, police said.
Khanimov was taken to Mount Sinai Beth Israel where he was treated for trauma, police said.
He was arrested for failing to yield to a pedestrian, police said.
He hadn't been arraigned as of Tuesday morning, records show.
An MTA spokeswoman said Khanimov would be suspended as a bus driver pending the investigation.
"As in all bus-pedestrian accidents, the bus operator will be held out of passenger service until the investigation is completed," said spokeswoman Beth DeFalco.
This is the second time a bus has struck a passenger at this intersection in the past six months.
In Oct 2016, home health aid Anna Colon was crossing East Houston at Avenue D on her way to fill in for a sick friend who could make it to work when she was fatally struck by a city bus. The driver remained at the scene and was not charged.
