BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A customer at a Franklin Avenue Chinese food restaurant wrestled a robber to the ground after the suspect tried to take off with cash, police said.

The would-be-thief entered Hong Kong Cafe at 357 Franklin Ave. near Lexington Avenue on Feb. 13 around 11:20 p.m. and jumped behind the counter, according to an NYPD spokesman.

The suspect took approximately $400 from the register and tried to flee but was stopped by a man who wrestled him and took the money back, police said.

The good Samaritan returned the cash to the 34-year-old employee, according to police.

The suspect fled the eatery, heading northbound on Franklin Avenue. He was last seen wearing a gray jacket, black hooded sweater and blue jeans, officials said.

Workers at Hong Kong Cafe declined to comment.
