BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — The team behind the popular Lower East Side speakeasy Attaboy is bringing its cocktails to Brooklyn.

Diamond Reef, located at 1057 Atlantic Ave. near Franklin Avenue on the Bedford-Stuyvesant/Crown Heights border, opened its doors March 1, owners said.

The roughly 1,300-square-foot space has an airy and tropical vibe, according to co-owner Dan Greenbaum, who also served as a bartender at the LES spot.

“Attaboy is more of a tiny room and you can’t really tell it’s a bar,” he said. “We kind of went for the opposite here: Let’s go put a big neon sign out front and make it a little more colorful.”

The new bar comes as Attaboy owners Michael McIlroy and Sam Ross plan to open two additional projects this year — another Attaboy in Nashville, Tennessee, and a bar and restaurant in Port Chester, New York.

Fans of cocktails at the Eldridge Street speakeasy will be able to experience the same quality drinks, albeit with a little twist, Greenbaum said.

Diamond Reef offers slushies including the Penichillin, a frozen variation of Ross’ popular Penicillin cocktail with Scotch, fresh lemon, honey and ginger.

Along with local beers, there is a selection of rum-based drinks, Greenbaum added, because the team “wanted to go kind of tropical without being a Tiki bar.”

The former auto shop is decorated with plants, and patrons will be able to drink at a large, outdoor space in the backyard when the weather warms up.

The owners are also looking to set up a trailer to serve food, with a menu including grilled skewers with seafood and vegetables.

Diamond Reef is open seven days a week from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m.
