QUEENS — A new restaurant is set to open in place of the former Danny Brown restaurant on Metropolitan Avenue in Forest Hills, the owner said.

Rimtin is expected to launch at 104-02 Metropolitan Ave. sometime this spring and will serve Mediterranean cuisine, said owner Annette Dulger.

Dulger previously ran Roka, a Turkish restaurant at 116-35 Metropolitan Ave. in Kew Gardens, but said she was forced to close it last year in part due to a chronic lack of parking in the area, which she said became a major complaint among her patrons.

The new restaurant, Dulger said, will offer a number of classic Turkish dishes that were on the menu at Roka. But it will also include a variety of new items, including steaks, baby lamb chops and fried mussels.

There will also be several vegetarian options, she said.

“It will be very nice,” she said. “A real mix of Mediterranean flavors.”

The restaurant has also applied for a liquor license, Dulger said.

Dulger who has lived in Forest Hills for 30 years, said she hopes to open Rimtin sometime in April.

The renowned Danny Brown Wine Bar & Kitchen, which for years was the only Queens eatery to receive a coveted Michelin star, closed in December 2015 after it was damaged by a fire.

Earlier this year, chef Danny Brown opened his new eatery — French bistro called X Bar — at 316 East 84th St. on the Upper East Side.
