BUSHWICK — A woman was shot in the back by two people riding bicycles on Myrtle Avenue near the Knickerbocker Avenue M train station Wednesday, officials said.

The 43-year-old victim was struck by the gunfire at 1397 Myrtle Ave., near Harman Street, around 4:26 p.m., police said. She appeared to be an unintended target, sources said.

The woman was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition, according to officials.

Police did not not have any further description of the suspects.

Cesar Martinez, 41, who works at a nearby dry cleaners, said he heard four to eight shots and saw the woman running down the street, but he didn't see the shooter.

"She was running and she was hit," Martinez said. "She was shot in the back and she fell on the corner."

The victim briefly fell to the ground, but then got back up and walked herself down a block to a clinic called Wycoff Doctors, at 1419 Myrtle Ave., Martinez said.
