MANHATTAN — A man shoved his hands down the back of a woman's pants after exposing himself to her in a Central Harlem elevator, NYPD officials said.

The suspect, who can be seen in surveillance footage released Thursday night, followed the 27-year-old woman into an apartment building near Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and West 142nd Street and onto the elevator about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

He tried to talk to her but then exposed himself before she got off the elevator, police said.

He then followed her and put his hand down the back of her pants, police said.

He fled and hadn't been arrested as of Friday morning, police said.

The suspect was described as about 20 years old, standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 160 pounds, officials said.

He was last seen in a black hooded coat, a black shirt, black and white pants, black and white sneakers and a yellow chain with a pendant, officials said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
