WILLIAMSBURG — A teenager plotted with a friend to throw a "bleach cocktail" at a girl's face inside a local school, partially blinding her for a few seconds, according to police.

After dousing her in bleach, the girl started punching the 14-year-old victim in the face at 10:40 a.m. inside the Lyons Community School at 223 Graham Ave., police said.

The 14-year-old victim was soon rushed to Woodhull Hospital, police said.

They arrested two 14-year-olds girls for the attack, the girl who'd thrown the bleach and her friend who was there also and prepared the "bleach cocktail," police said. The attackers' names were not released due to their ages.

The City Law Department, which oversees the prosecution of minors in Family Court is investigating the case, according to Jason LaSala, a spokesman.

"The safety of students and staff is our top priority," Toya Holness, a spokeswoman for the Department of Education, which has pushed schools to better report and track bullying.

Following the attack, staff immediately called the police and added additional supports for students, Holness said, though she didn't immediately provide any specifics on the nature of the support.
