Woman Critically Injured After Getting Hit by Car, NYPD Says

QUEENS — A woman suffered life-threatening injuries when an SUV hit her in Rosedale Wednesday morning, officials said.

The 54-year-old woman, whose name wasn't immediately released, was hit by a Mercedes-Benz SUV as she crossed Francis Lewis Boulevard at Sunrise Highway about 7 a.m., NYPD and FDNY officials said.

The SUV, driven by a another 54-year-old woman, had been heading along Francis Lewis Boulevard, an NYPD spokesman said.

She suffered life-threatening injuries and was treated at Jamaica Hospital, police said.

The the driver wasn't immediately arrested, police said.
