BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — The owners of a new cafe on Greene Avenue are hoping to create a community space for park-goers and coffee lovers.

Little Roy Coffee Co. is slated to open Thursday at 571 Greene Ave., across from Herbert Von King Park, according to Moe Gabr.

“We love coffee and we love our community, so this is a combination of both — to create a space that people enjoy,” he said.

Gabr and his wife, Jannah, frequent Von King Park with their children and Pomeranian dog, Roy, and were at a loss for finding a nearby spot to grab a drink or a bite to eat, he said.

The roughly 450-square-foot shop near Marcy Avenue will have a “romantic and intimate” feel, said Gabr, who is an interior designer by trade.

Little Roy Coffee Co. will offer seating for about 20 people and customers will be able to buy specialty coffees and pastries. The owners hope to expand the menu with sandwiches and food influenced by Gabr’s Egyptian heritage.

The husband-and-wife duo are working on offerings of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, teas and drinks such as a helba latte with fenugreek tea and milk.
