QUEENS — Police are searching for a man who repeatedly punched a newsstand owner because he didn’t like the price of some candy he wanted to buy, police said.

The incident took place last Wednesday at the Jamaica Center subway station around 9:30 p.m., authorities said.

The suspect began arguing with the 56-year-old newsstand owner after complaining about the candy, police said.

He then threw a bottle of water at the victim and punched him several times in the face. Then he said "I will be back tomorrow" and fled, according to the NYPD.

Police described the suspect as approximately 22-years-old, 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray knitted cap, black jacket and multi-colored pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
