THE BRONX — A driver was arrested after hitting a man who was walking in a crosswalk and suffered life- threatening injuries from the collision Sunday night, NYPD officials said.
The 50-year-old man, whose name wasn't immediately released, was crossing Bedford Park North with the light at Valentine Avenue when Jean Guerra in his GMC Sierra hit him while turning about 6 p.m., police said.
The pedestrian was treated at Jacobi Medical Center where he's listed in critical condition, police said.
Guerra was arrested for driving with a tinted windshield, failing to yield and failing to exercise due care, an NYPD spokesman said.
