QUEENS — Another nine people were held at John F. Kennedy Airport Monday following last week's executive order from President Donald Trump that restricted entry into the United States for refugees and immigrants from seven predominantly Muslim countries, according to lawyers who have been helping the travelers.
They were on a flight that originated in Saudi Arabia, but additional details about the detainees was not available, the lawyers said. The nation's on Trump's ban list are Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Syria, Sudan, Yemen and Libya.

More than 40 people were detained at JFK over the weekend, but by early Monday afternoon they had all been let go.
The U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security had said it was "working closely with airline partners to prevent travelers who would not be granted entry under the executive orders from boarding international flights to the U.S.
"Therefore, we do not anticipate that further individuals traveling by air to the United States will be affected."
