GRAMERCY — A Brooklyn man raped a woman in the bathroom of popular Beauty Bar last weekend, according to a police report.

Brenton Maughn-Tulloch, 30, was inside the bar at 231 E. 14th St., just after 1 a.m. Saturday Jan. 21 when he and the victim, a 22-year-old woman who he had met that evening, headed to the bathroom to do cocaine, according to a police report.

While they were in the bathroom he made a move on the woman, but when she refused he pinned her against the wall, pulled down her pants, and raped her, police said.

Afterwards, Maughn-Tulloch remained inside the bar as the woman called police, they said. Police arrested him at the bar 45 minutes later, a police spokesman said.

The incident was first reported by Town and Village.

Maughn-Tulloch was arraigned on charges of first-degree rape, and a judge ordered him held on $50,000 bail, according to a spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. He’s currently being held at Rikers Island, and his next court date is scheduled for Friday.

Maugh-Tulloch has a host of previous low-level cases against him in Manhattan, including public drinking and marijuana possession. On Dec. 21 he pleaded guilty to grand larceny charges and was released without bail to await sentencing, but the details of that case were not immediately available.

An employee of the bar declined to comment, and Maughn-Tulloch's attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
