EAST WILLIAMSBURG — California coffee roaster Blue Bottle opened its newest city outpost in East Williamsburg Friday, a bright and spacious cafe in the neighborhood's industrial zone.

The location at 279 McKibbin St. will serve as a home base for the company's East Coast roasting.

It already has cafes in Park Slope and Chelsea, and plans to expand to Miami, Boston and Washington D.C. later this year, said store manager Lilly Kaplan, 24, who's been with the company for two years.

The McKibbin Street space has a kitchen for baking pastries, toasts and English muffins in-house, as well as a training facility for new baristas.

"We have a dedication to the craft on every level," Kaplan said, adding that they roast their own beans and brew each cup by hand as it's ordered.

"We're just dedicated to doing it the hard way," she said.

"Aside from the coffee, we're really dedicated to hospitality and making people feel welcome in our shops."

Blue Bottle joins a growing number of coffee roasters like City of Saints Coffee Roasters, Super Crown Coffee Roasters and Caffe Vita who've set up shop in the East Williamsburg industrial zone.

Good morning, Bushwick! Looking forward to serving you.
