SUNNYSIDE — Residents will get a chance to meet the new commanding officer of the 108th Precinct at a town hall meeting Thursday and ask questions about crime in the area.

Capt. Ralph Forgione will be at Sunnyside Community Services from 6 to 7:30 p.m., where he'll introduce himself and take questions from residents, according to City Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer's office, which is organizing the event.

Forgione took over as leader of the precinct at the start of the new year.

A Queens native, he's worked for the NYPD for 27 years, most recently as second-in-command at the 114th Precinct in Astoria.

This his first time in the role of commanding officer.

He replaced Deputy Inspector John Travaglia, who'd been at the helm of the 108th Precinct — which covers Long Island City, Sunnyside and Woodside — since 2014.

The town hall meeting is open to all. More information can be found here.
