FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A man snapped up more than 40 packs of nicotine gum Nicorette at a Lower Manhattan Duane Reade, police said.
The alleged thief quickly filled a black bag with $4,040 worth of the Nicorette products meant to help people quit smoking, including a "fruitchill" flavor of the gum, as well as several packs of the brand's lozenges and patches, just after midnight on Jan. 16, police said.
He then walked out of the 100 Broadway store with the shoplifted items.
Police were still investigating the theft as of Wednesday.
