CHELSEA — A shoplifter was caught stealing more than $300 worth of body wash and lotion from a CVS — less than an hour after another pair of thieves made off with more than $400 in medicine, police said.

In the first incident, around 9:05 a.m. on Jan. 21, two shoplifters hit the drugstore at 81 Eighth Ave., at the corner of West 14th Street, grabbing 10 boxes of Zantac worth $115, a $30 Nexium packet, an unspecified amount of Zantic worth $120 and five Z Guard anti-snoring devices worth $165, the NYPD said.

The pair took the items off the shelves and stashed them in their jackets before fleeing, police said.

No one had been arrested as of Wednesday.

Less than an hour later, at 9:50 a.m., an employee at the same CVS spotted a 49-year-old man removing items from a shelf and fleeing the store, the NYPD said.

The worker flagged down a police officer, who arrested the suspect after discovering he’d stolen 20 bottles of Dove body wash worth $180 and 10 bottles of Eucerin lotion worth $140, police said.

A manager working at the CVS Wednesday declined to comment on the incidents.
