BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — The owner of a new Bedford-Stuyvesant beauty salon and shop is looking to give your locks some love.

The OMHH Beauty Oasis and Debra Hare-Bey Private Parlour is slated to open its doors on Lewis Avenue at the end of January.

Hare-Bey started the natural, vegan product line in 2000, years after launching her first salon in Prospect Heights, she said.

OMHH — which stands for Oh My Heavenly Hair — is a “glamorously natural lifestyle brand that is concerned about whole body care and health,” according to the owner.

“I always wanted to focus on complete and total health, although I started as a natural hair stylist,” Hare-Bey said.

“A good natural hair stylist is not just about the hair, we know it starts with a healthy body, a healthy spirit.”

The new OMHH shop and salon at 407 Lewis Ave. near Decatur Street takes over the former space of Marlene’s Hair Stylist beauty parlor.

The business will sell vegan hair and body wash, oils, spa bars and more, and a separate parlor space will allow clients to have one-on-one, appointment-only visits with Hare-Bey.

Visitors can experience a selection of tea treatments for their tresses, or choose from a variety of natural hair styles, Hare-Bey said.

Extensions start at $350, she added, and prices for twists begin around $100.

“I want people to know that natural hair is a viable option. You can be the CEO with natural hair, you can be the lawyer with natural hair, you can be a mom, be sexy and wear natural hair.”

The shop will also host community events, including a make-up tips workshop, along with Valentine’s Day and Women’s History Month celebrations.

OMHH will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
