MANHATTAN — All Brooklyn-bound lanes on the upper level of the Manhattan Bridge were closed for about an hour after a yellow cab caught fire Tuesday afternoon, according to officials.
The cab was on the upper roadway when it caught fire at 1:20 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said. Black plumes of smoke could be seen billowing from the cab toward Brooklyn.
There were no injuries and firefighters were able to put out the blaze by 2:20 p.m.
The upper level of bridge reopened at about 2:27 p.m., officials said, though drivers could expect residual delays.
