GREENPOINT — A Porsche driver was arrested after he careened out of control onto a Greenpoint sidewalk and hit a 14-year-old boy Sunday night, an NYPD spokesman said.
Guo Lu, 39, was recklessly changing lanes when he sideswiped a Honda and hopped a curb, hitting the boy outside 172 Greenpoint Ave., near Manhattan Avenue about 6 p.m., police said Monday morning.
"I was upstairs at my desk and heard this banging. It shook the whole place. I looked out the window. There were quite a few people surrounding someone on the ground. I saw an ambulance come and they pulled out the gurney," said Ainsley Ferraro, 60.
Ferraro rushed out of his office to see what had happened.
"It was all mangled. Everything was banged up. It was kind of crazy," Ferraro said.
The boy was treated at Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.
There were no other injuries, police said.
Lu was arrested for reckless endangerment and changing lanes unsafely, police said.
