FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A meeting and event space for Lower Manhattan professionals is offering nonprofits free use of its facilities.

The LMHQ, a collaboration space at 150 Broadway run by the Downtown Alliance, one of the city's largest business improvement district organizations, is welcoming nonprofits to apply for office and meeting rooms.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and give nonprofits the chance to reserve a room two Monday evenings per month, as well as LMHQ's 140-seat event space, which is available once a month.

The free space is available through a $20,000 Bright Ideas grant from Con Edison, the Downtown Alliance said.

Typically, annual memberships at LMHQ range from $2,500 for an individual to $10,000 for a small business. The space also offers a $30 day rate for drop-ins.

This is the second year the grant has been offered for nonprofit use. Last year, organizations with a variety of missions, including immigrant aid and women's mentoring, were awarded the space.

"As a young non-profit ourselves, we're acutely aware of the importance of programs like this," Daria Siegel, director of LMHQ, said in a statement.

"And whether it's providing needed space for workshops and trainings, a venue to host a fundraising event or helping connect them with a future collaborator, we're proud to be able to open our doors to our nonprofit neighbors."
