EAST HARLEM — Two men attempted to rob a teen at knifepoint as he waited for a bus, police said.

The 14-year-old was waiting for the bus at Madison Avenue and East 135th Street around 2:50 p.m. on Jan. 6 when the two demanded the teen’s phone, police said.

The teen refused to hand it over and one of the men pulled out a knife, according to authorities.

That suspect then repeated the demand and, when the victim did not give up his phone, the other suspect punched him in the face and knocked him to the ground, police said.

The two men fled over the Madison Avenue Bridge toward the Bronx, police said.

The teen suffered swelling and bruising on his face, but did not report any serious injuries.

The suspects were described as standing about 5-foot-9.
