WOODSIDE — A man committed two separate robberies onboard the E train in Queens — holding up a straphanger at knifepoint in the first incident and punching a man in the other, according to the NYPD.
The man first struck around 3 a.m. on Dec. 18, when he approached an 18-year-old man on a Manhattan-bound train and pulled out a knife. He stole the victim's iPhone, then fled at the Northern Boulevard station, police said.
On Jan. 4, the suspect and another man walked up to a 20-year-old rider as the train was stopped at the Court Square-23rd Street station just before 4 a.m. and punched the victim in the face, according to police.
They then stole the man's wallet — which held his debit card and MetroCard — as well as his cellphone charger, police said.
Surveillance video of the assailant shows him walking through a subway turnstile wearing a red du-rag and black winter jacket.
