HELL'S KITCHEN —  A love triangle led a man to stab another man during a fight on Ninth Avenue Thursday morning, NYPD officials said.

The two 54-year-old men, whose names weren't released, were arguing about a woman when one of them pulled out a blade and stabbed the other in the stomach near West 58th Street about 10:44 a.m., officials and witnesses said.

The victim, who was wearing a Yankees jersey, "was saying 'Stop, I don't want to fight!'" said Guillermo Gonzalez, 53, who was parking nearby at the time. "From nowhere, the other guy pulled out a short knife and stabbed him in the belly."

He also suffered slash wounds to his forearm, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The suspect "thew the knife on the ground," Gonzalez recounted. "The [victim] didn't even know he was bleeding."

The victim, who was visibly bleeding from the left side of his torso, then pinned his attacker against a tree, witnesses said.

The victim "was like 5' 8", slim. He looked like he was on drugs or something. He looked like a zombie," said Jason Herrera, 23.

While he was pinned, another woman came and smacked the suspect in the face, witnesses said.

The victim was taken to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center for injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, an FDNY spokesman said.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene, but charges against him were still pending, police said.
