QUEENS — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a minivan while trying to cross a busy Flushing intersection Wednesday night, police said.

The 65-year-old man was crossing Main Street near 58th Avenue when he was hit by a Dodge Caravan about 11:35 p.m., the NYPD said.

The victim was out of the crosswalk and in the center of the road when the minivan struck him, police said.

He was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital of Queens where he died.

His identity was pending family notification.

The 57-year-old driver of the Caravan stayed on scene and was not charged, police said.
