HELL’S KITCHEN — A popular empanada joint that was destroyed by a fire nearly a year ago is preparing to reopen next door to its former space.

Empanada Mama will open in its new digs at 765 Ninth Ave. in either February or March, owner Socrates Nanas said on Monday.

The expanded eatery, between West 52nd and 51st streets, will seat around 70 people.

The process of reopening the restaurant hasn’t been an easy one, Nanas noted.

“It’s been difficult… dealing with leases, architects — it’s just a difficult process, but it’s expected,” he said. “But we’re definitely looking forward to opening soon.”

The new outpost will offer the same stuffed empanadas, arepas and tapas that the old eatery served.

“There might be a few new items, but we definitely want to open up with the items that everybody loves so much,” Nanas said. “I can’t wait to see everyone.”

Empanada Mama has a second location at 95 Allen St. on the Lower East Side.
