UPPER EAST SIDE — A 32-story luxury high-rise is slated to be built on East 62nd Street at Second Avenue with a wine tasting room, a gym and 83 apartments, plans show.

Orlando-based developer Real Estate Inverlad filed plans with the city to build the 510-foot-tall residential tower at 249 E. 62nd St. after agreeing to include 20 affordable apartments off-site in exchange for a 24,360-square-foot bonus.

Of those, 5,000 would be used on the new building while the remainder will be on other unspecified city developments, according to records and officials.

In addition to apartments, the new building will include retail space, as well as a fitness center, a children's playroom, a bar, a media lounge and a study/meeting area for residents, according to plans filed with the Department of Buildings on Dec. 27.

The developer demolished a 4-story building that existed at the site in 2012 to make way for the new tower, records show.

Inverlad owns 34 condos in two Trump towers in Florida and is working on developing two other high-rises at East 61st and East 63rd streets. The company did not respond to requests for comment on Wednesday.

Records show that Rafael Vinoly Architects, which designed the super-tall 432 Park Ave., will design the East 62nd Street building.
